Its not often I leave reviews but I can honestly say that HyslopDental Practice are amazing the receptionists are very friendly and make you welcome, I called up with an emergency and was allocated an appointment the next day early morning. The dentists I use Rhys and Lucy are very good and make you feel at ease in the dreaded chair. I have no problem recommending Hyslop Dental at all.

Our youngest daughter has special needs and diagnosed autistic and classed as disabled. When we first tried to register with this practice we communicated she was autistic and was asked of is she severe....(in a negative tone) I ignored this and explained she is not none verbal but will be anxious and may need a few appointment seeing her siblings in the chair etc to get used to it. I was informed after asking for a separate appointment for her to ease her in no we don't do that they all have to come together? We came to the appointment this evening and our daughter with special needs was upset once we got into the reception area I was on my own as the only adult with my three children I spoke to someone on the desk and handed in my forms which I again stated her needs....this was handed straight back to me and I was told give them to the dentist... I was asked to fill in a ipad with some forms for them all....by this point my daughter was getting more upset I asked I'd it was OK to fill the forms in whilst in the waiting room so I could calm my upset daughter I was told no sorry you will have to do it here....I then had to carry her into the waiting room and leave her upset with her older siblings whilst filling the forms out as there were others in the reception area and it was quite busy. I informed the receptionist she is autistic and has special needs and she gets overwhelmed in medical settings...there wasn't much said apart from oh right. My daughter did calm for a short period whilst in the waiting room but did become upset once we walked towards the treatment room where we were met with a abrupt dentist who held her hands up and said sorry we can't do this I can't hear myself talk.....standing in front of the door pulling a irraatated face.so we were left to discuss this outside the room in front of others in the reception area with my youngest crying....she then invited us in looking irritated and said we're not going to be able to see her today or anyone else because of the noise and shes too upset. If this had been done in a polite way I possibly wouldn't have been offended but they way we were spoke to and looked at was awful..... my daughter and ourselves were made to feel very unwelcome and like we were nothing but a problem....we were asked if there not someone who can have her (meaning my daughter with special needs) I explained I was here on my own and there dad works away and that i had asked for separate appointments and why this was...I was then told we wont be able to see anyone of you the older two were told you will have to be booked in again separately....obviously this was handled badly and done with no compassion or empathy at all and it was very upsetting for me as a parent and her siblings... no allowances being made for my disabled daughter not even a chance to bring her in for five minutes to see if we could calm her down. There was constant faces being pulled by the dentist because my daughter was overwhelmed and crying....I wasn't aware children with disabilities could be treated so appalling or the fact the reason she was upset is because she has special needs....it was shocking... I said I would rebook them in without her next time just for the two older ones and went to leave the treatment room....the dentist held the door shut and said oh you look upset....well yes I was we were all refused treatment because my youngest is disabled and upset...instead of opening the door and trying to help the situation she continued to hold the door shut so we couldn't leave as I think she quickly realised she had offended us....no apology was given and we had to leave....it was awful for my two older children to be refused treatment and to see their little sister be discriminated against because she was upset and has special needs. No allowances were made for her disability we were greeted with nothing but negativity.. it was awful that my older children will have that memory of the way we were all treated and seeing there youngest sister being discriminated against.

The deep cleaning appointment with hygienist Charlotte Bond costs 125 for half an hour. During this time, Charlotte spent 10 minutes poking the teeth and gums, another 10 minutes administering anesthetic shots, and attempting to sell an electric toothbrush. The actual cleaning took only 10 minutes and covered just half of the mouth. To clean the entire mouth, we need to schedule another half-hour appointment at an additional cost of 125. This means that the total cost for teeth cleaning alone would be 250. Additionally, please note that without completing this procedure, Hyslop will not allow me to join their regular monthly payment plan. I wanted to make you aware of this before you consider becoming their new client.

Absolutely fantastic dental practice. Everyone who works there cares about their patients from the welcome on the front desk to the dentists, nurses and hygienists. Over the past year I have had a tooth out which has then been replaced by a dental implant. I am or used to be a nervous patient but the care and reassurance that Reece, Holly and James provided about every step of my procedures gave me total confidence and put me at ease and has eventually cured me of my anxiety associated with dental visits. The implant procedure Troon several steps and each time I can honestly say I didnt feel a thing throughout any of the surgery. James is a highly skilled surgeon who explained everything he was doing. I now have a fully functioning tooth once more and extremely happy with the service everyone provided and would also say the cost was very competitive. It took me ten attempts to register with a dental practice when I moved to Southport and Im glad I found Hyslop. Huge thank you from me for all you do to keep my teeth healthy.
