The Gentle Touch

As a recently retired dentist I can truly say that the standard of treatment provided by The Gentle Touch is of a standard that most dentists can only aspire to. The care which I recieved by my new dentist John Thompson and hygienists Michelle Paxton was excellent. The standard of work by the other 2 hygienists Abbie Frankland and Lynn Nash is equally good, I know this because they used to work for me. When I retired I made a beeline to the Gentle Touch as one of the few independent practices left in the borders run by a principal dentist dedicated to the care of the patients, Amber Aplin.

Everyone at Gentle Touch always make me feel at ease. From Reception to treatment. All the staff I have encountered are super friendly and always take their time to explain everything. Would certainly recommend.

I had 2 front teeth implants and am so happy with them .the whole experience was fantastic very gentle and made you feel very comfortable and relaxed lovely staff doctor would recommend this very highly.

Last week Amber repaired my damaged tooth using the biomimetic restoration and onlay treatment. The whole procedure was clearly explained with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and the whole thing went really well. The tooth is looking amazing and feeling great - you'd need to be a dentist to know it wasn't a real, whole tooth. If you've a damaged tooth needing fixed I'd strongly recommend you discuss this option to see if it's suitable for you. I have just finished dental implant treatment with Gental Touch and couldnt be more thrilled with the results. The teeth look and feel great. Robert and his team were all fabulous - professional, friendly and helpful. The appointment schedule was set in advance and everything was explained in detail so I knew what to expect at each stage in the process. Having had crowns on my front teeth for many years I only wish I had the treatment done sooner. I would thoroughly recommend Gental Touch to anyone considering implants!!

Wonderful level of care. Receptionist staff always pleasant and helpful (all lovely lovely girls!) Dental treatment has been well discussed and explained beforehand. As someone who struggles with anxiety at the dentist all the team members worked to make me feel more at ease. I would absolutely recommend this Dental practice.

Earlier this year while visiting family I found myself in urgent need of a dentist. Gentle Touch came to my rescue. Without hesitation details were taken and I was given an appointment. There was the chance that the dentist would not be able to help. The correct tool was required to re-install a piece of my implant. Most dentist I rang had said no, it was doubtful they could help. When I entered the surgery Dr. Craig was gowned and ready, confirmed his universal instrument kit, bought especially for this type of need, had the correct size and 30mins later I was leaving with the piece where it should be and gum sutured. All painless and no dramas. All the staff I encountered were friendly, helpful and attentive from the initial phone call and following. A very successful and pleasant experience. I had an onlay filling done replacing an old filling. I have not come across this type of filling before but I must say it is absolutely superb compared with the crown. It looks good, there are no edges on the tooth where it's difficult to clean , nor an unsightly black line of a crown where it meets the gum. It is in effect a new tooth, smooth and perfectly fitted and honed for bite and comfort. It makes you feel years younger and confident about your teeth.

I was very nervous about getting a dental implant and avoided it for years Im so glad that I went ahead with the procedure! Robert and the team of dental staff were very kind and attentive and made sure that I was as relaxed as possible at each stage. Im glad I didnt have to drive after having the implant post fitted and I needed to rest and recover for few hours after this but every other part of the process was straightforward. I am delighted with the results and everything settled very quickly

This is an outstandingly good practice. I cannot speak highly enough of Robert's expertise and skill. His work has been transformative. All of the practice staff are extremely pleasant and professional. Very highly recommended.

I give this practice 2 stars fir the lovely staff who work here. My husband and I used to be patients years ago . The most wonderful dentist who had started the practice, was there. Then after a few years, he decided to leave and go to tte poorer countries and to avail of his services to those who were very needy. He always put put people first. After he left, it was taken over and NHS patients were refused. The Gentle Touch only wanted to deal with the wealthy elite of Scotland. NHS patients were told to pay privately or leave..We had to find a dentist elsewhere. We are fortunate in that there are many other dentists who accept NHS patients and are glad to help the needy in this country.. We go where, not only the prices are reasonable but these dentists care sbout ALL people and have the best up to date high tec machines as well. When this practise opened, the man who started it, who cared about people , would be turning over in disgust to see how greedy his practise has become.

From the first consultation staff were professional friendly and informative about implant procedure Robert was excellent in every step of implant procedure and kept me informed all the way through the process 5 service and highly recommended in every way Thank you Stephen Reid
