Dr. Jay B. Wettstein DMD PC

Ive been seeing Dr. Wettstein for a few years now. I loved the service so much, my mom also switched her dental care to him. I had a dental cleaning today with the incredibly kind and amazing Kristy. I am so grateful for this entire team. They are always there when I need them and have helped me stay healthy. They continue to go above and beyond with the best customer service around. Were lucky they are here. Thank you!!!

Dr. Wettstein is absolutely the best dentist ive ever met. He not only got me in to see him ON HIS DAY OFF, on a emergency dental situation, but did so within 20 mins of me contacting him. Hes amazing, i barely felt ONE tiny poke during the numbing process and i needed A LOT of numbing for 2 emergency teeth to be pulled. But he was also so quick, gentle and very kind and professional. And to top it off I WASNT EVEN HIS PATIENT!! I am completely new to the area. Definitely 5 STARS!!! Just wish he was accepting new patients with my dental insurance. But hes not currently so ill just have to wait til he is. I recommend him to EVERYONE!!

I just have to say That Jay Wettstein is 1 in all of Ontario. And the best of all of my life with dentist's. What an honor. I have been through alot. He is kind, wonderful, gentle and professional and has gone above and beyond to meet my needs. Him and his staff helped me through one of my biggest fears. Thank you forever Jay. And staff.

They need to take down off the site that they except people with medicaid or Medicare because they don't it's a lie and false advertisement

I cannot recommend this dental practice highly enough! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful, and the office itself is clean, modern, and comfortable. DR. Wettstein took the time to really listen to my concerns and answer all of my questions thoroughly. He was gentle and precise during my extraction and I left feeling well-cared for. Overall, I had a great experience here and will definitely be returning for all my dental needs. If you're looking for a skilled, caring dentist and a friendly, welcoming office, this is the place for you!

My children and I were patients at this practice for about 20 years. Over that time, Dr. Wettsteins professionalism began to decline. We discovered he cant -and wont willingly- do composite fillings (the white material) and we later discovered hed been overlooking cavities in our x-rays. During Covid, his behavior became very agitated and he was short-tempered. At one point, he was dismissive of an emergency dental concern Id developed (due to his poor skill) and I had to seek help elsewhere. The other dentist (who was, at the time, on the Idaho Dental Board) was shocked and professionally critical of Dr. Wettsteins work. He treated the infected area and suggested I give Dr. Wettstein an opportunity to fix his mistakes, because hed have to cover the costs. I scheduled with Dr. Wettstein again and he was so awful to me very irritated that I was back, angry Id gotten a 2nd opinion and his work had been criticized, and angry that he couldnt easily fix my infected, damaged tooth. His assistant, a young woman I hadnt met before, was obnoxious toward me that afternoon, as well, and kept knocking her metal device against my teeth, painfully, and smirking, but never apologizing or stopping, even after I asked her to be more careful. I felt like I was definitely being punished for making him redo his bad work. After a very painful, embarrassing, and emotionally draining visit, Dr. Wettstein stood up and angrily said, Well, thats the best I can do, and stalked out. Id been nearly upside down in the exam chair for about 2 hours, so I was stiff and lightheaded when I stood to put on my coat and gather my child. Dr. Wettstein yelled from the front, You need to get out of here, now! I thought he was joking, but he wasnt, and when we got near the reception desk, we heard him speaking sternly to his wife with an angry look on his face and she seemed to have been crying. Dr. Wettstein, who isnt as skilled as he should be, has become ego-driven, rather than compassionate and professional, and was such a bully to me at the end, our immediate and extended family all left his practice for good. Its taken me a couple of years to write this review. Im still upset and Ontario deserves better than a shoddy practitioner like him. Ive encountered other area residents who also have complaints just like mine and have urged them to write reviews, too. If anyones wondering, yes, I did talk to the Oregon Board Of Dentistry about this, but his poor work was apparently just on the line of something theyd investigate and advise upon- still bad, though. The board advisor couldnt cite Dr. Wettsteins cruel, rude behavior, but told me to write about that here, because the community should know. Our family members now travel to Idaho for our dental care and are seeing kind, skilled dentists whove worked hard to repair the neglect and damage our teeth had suffered under Dr. Wettstein. In my case, it has cost thousands to fix the issues, but I have peace of mind, knowing Im now in really good hands.

Terrible.

After a week of pain and living on painkillers, dr. Wettstein was able to get me in in one day, remove the tooth and start me on a course of treatment that will help resolve my issues. I had tried that several other dental health providers I couldn't get in any sooner than a week. I was definitely impressed also with the quality of care provided and the feeling of caring about me and my health dr. Wettstein and his staff provided. I wish I had heard about him and met him sooner.
