Aurora Family Dentistry gives very competent, personal service. I am a retired medical professional so I am more interested in the competency than the friendliness of a provider and their staff, but Aurora provides both. I highly recommend Aurora.

I came to see Dr Choi after leaving another local dentist office. I had originally saw him at the other office and had excellent experiences with him as my dentist. Well, I was done with the constant turnover at my previous dentists office and It took a bit of detective work but I found him at Aurora Family Dentistry and Im so happy I did. Dr Choi identified multiple issues with an implant that the previous office had installed and now due to their sub-par work I need to go see a periodontist and may need to have the implant removed and replaced, an implant I paid several thousand dollars out of pocket for, on top of my insurance. They are definitely not the Premier dentists of Alaska they claim to be. IYKYK. Needless to say Im very happy that I was able to find Dr Choi again and I look forward to a long Drpatient relationship.

It's time to find a new trusted dentist. After Aurora canceled my appointment due to the loss of two hygienists, they were unable to guarantee that I could reschedule within the same calendar year, resulting in my forfeiture of the second dental cleaning for 2024 due to their staffing challenges. This situation was not due to any oversight on my part, as I maintained my scheduled appointments. Additionally, I felt there was a lack of effort from the office manager, Brenda, to address this issue and find a viable and fair solution. It is worth considering how a practice could experience the departure of two employees. What circumstances might lead to such turnover? I am quite disappointed by the lack of professionalism and the failure to uphold commitments to patients. I have been with this practice for many years, and I have noticed a decline in standards since the transition to the Gambell building and subsequent expansion of the practice. Moreover, I find the billing issues to be quite troubling. My insurance was billed for a service that Dr. Scott Lyke had stated would incur no charge. After bringing this to attention in June 2024, I received assurances from a male office manager that it would be rectified. Upon returning in January 2025, I unfortunately had to address this issue once more being told it could take months to correct.
