Update Spoke with the Operations Manager who apologized for the mishap, ensured this wouldnt happen in the future, and rescheduled me for a time that worked for me. Ive changed the rating to reflect that, as I appreciated their ability to quickly remedy a tough situation. Had a really great experience here my first time after being referred by my previous dentist. My employer switched to better insurance options, so I got new Anthem insurance and uploaded my documents 2 days before as requested. Upon arrival today for my 8am appointment I was told I uploaded my Medical Insurance (its the same card, under the same plan umbrella) and was asked to pay out of pocket, or I could reschedule as it takes multiple days to verify insurance. Not sure why it wasnt verified during the time I uploaded it to the portal as requested. I had to walk out without having my appointment.

Saw Dr. Nimmo and right from the beginning i was treated with care and understanding. The entire staff was very warm and welcoming! Made me feel super comfortable, especially as someone who gets anxiety going to the dentist. Definitely will be going back!

Had to leave because the dentist didn't stop when I told them to. They took 16 Xrays and a CT scan for a cleaning, and then didn't actually clean my teeth.

very polite staff who made me feel comfortable. Dr. Nimmo cared for my needs especially when it came to easing my nerves (not a fan of medical environments) and making me feel at comfortable.

I've waited quite some time to write this review, 10 months to see how it all shook out. I am less than impressed. I switched from another West Seattle dentist because a friend recommended me given the newer technology used. At first, I was impressed with how thorough my checkup was. We also determined the tooth pain I had was due to a cracked molar that needed a crown. I was also told I had periodontal disease, which I believe to be true. I was shocked my measurements were 3x worse than my previous dentist ever noted. So I am curious how severe it really was and if the depthcost of treatment given was totally necessary. Hard to prove since I'm not a dentist. My problem was my crown. They got me in quickly on Thanksgiving weekend. The temp I was given seemed ill-seated. I could deal with the sensitivity, but it was out of the norm. I'll add, they were pretty rough in my mouth. Not very gingerly handling. After the permanent crown was seated, I still couldn't chew much on that side. I gave it a couple weeks to calm down and eventually had to go in for a bite adjustment. A few weeks later I was BILLED for a bite adjustment. In my 39 years alive, I have never been charged to adjust recent work! 120 or so! Even after the adjustment, the pain was better when I chewed, but still not perfect even 9 months later. A couple weeks ago, while traveling abroad the crown popped off. I had to very quickly get into a dentist and pay 360 just to have it cleaned and reseated. The dentist informed me the tooth should not have been crowned because it was filed down too much, giving it very little seating. The good news is, 10 months later, this dentist's work fixed ALL discomfort. All he did was clean the old cement and reseat it. This tells me Dentists of West Seattle doesn't know how to attach a crown. They charged me 800 for the work, 120 to adjust a bite (ridiculous, stand by your work!), and now 360 overseas because they couldn't properly attach a crown. I have a friend with a nearly identical situation and second opinion. After reading reviews, there seems to be systemic issues here. Not to mention they treat your mouth like a piece of equipment that can be manhandled. They pushed my spouse to get non-impacted, painless wisdom teeth removed for 4k to. I told him to get another opinion. I'd suggest avoiding this place.

Dr. Cooper Bolak at Dentists of West Seattle was fantastic! He clearly explained what was going on and outlined exactly what I needed, ensuring we were aligned on my goals before moving forward. The office ran like clockwork, with everyone on the same page, making the whole visit efficient. On top of that, the welcoming, judgment-free atmosphere made me feel completely comfortable throughout the entire process. Highly recommend for anyone seeking professional, thoughtful care in a well-organized environment.

This is definitely one of those places where the actual providers are fantastic, but the office side wants to treat you like a dairy cow. All too common in the dental world. I am having a difficult time wanting to go back after I found out that they want a 100 deposit to make an appointment with a specialist. The money isn't the issue, it's that they want me to pay for a service before they provide it. Added to that, the front desk person was snarky as hell when I was confused about it, and said something about how giving me an appointment would be unfair to "people who can pay." Get over yourself dude, you answer phones for a dentist.

Didn't address my issues at all. I knew I already had periodontal disease which requires occasional deep cleanings. But the first time I came in here, they didn't mention anything related to that and randomly told me I should remove my wisdom teeth. I went ahead with the procedure, which went fine, but there was nothing recommended after that. I'm with a new dentist now and they found issues with my existing crown, cavities, and scheduled deep cleanings for my periodontal disease. None of this was ever brought up at dentists of west seattle. It felt like they just wanted to do an expensive procedure to get some quick cash and didn't care at all for my dental health. Im leaving a review for them about a year after I've stopped coming, so not sure if it's still the same dentists here.

Kind staff and good care. I normally go to a different location, but I needed 2 wisdom teeth removed and West Seattle happened to have an appointment available 2 days later. My experience here was great! I was pretty nervous after having an awful experience with my last wisdom teeth extraction and because I was electing just local anesthesia, but the staff were all great at making me feel very at ease. They were good listeners and multiple people checked with me to ask and understand why I was opting for local rather than general anesthesia. I couldn't say enough good things about Dr. Obenchain and the assistant who completed my surgery. What I appreciated the most is that they acknowledged that I was fully conscious during this sort of traumatic procedure by checking in with me throughout, giving clear instructions, explaining the different things they'd be doing and the tools they'd be using, and including me by telling me what was going on and even showing me pieces of my tooth as they extracted them. I really like to be involved in my healthcare, so I especially appreciated this. They gave me plenty of anesthesia so I never felt like I needed to ask for more. Communication and care after my surgery was great as well. Highly recommend this office's friendly staff and Dr. Obenchain if you're looking for a great oral surgeon. Thanks again!
