Customer service from the people at the desk is terrible. All the clients are different in many ways, many with medical problems that make many things difficult for them. For some, people things are normal For us are difficult , who have different medical conditions, it is difficult. If you do not want to have empathy with the patients, that is fine, but you guys can be professionals instead.

Please don't waste your time here. Ugh. I really want to like my new dentist clinic, but I'm afraid that is not possible at this facility. The front reception staff are very nice, and most hygienists have been, too. However, I find Dr. B can be passive aggressive. With each interaction I have with him, I leave crying or feeling belittled. He lacks patience, clear communication, and kindness. In addition, this clinic will stretch things out. I've gone here with 5 or 6 appointments for things that past dentists would have done in 2 or 3 appointments (and with much more finesse kindness given during appointments than is available here.) There is a serious lack of communication between staff, as each appointment I'm told is scheduled for one thing, and then the task changes when I get there. The range of skill level of staff is concerning. Some hygienists are very heavy handed and others barely help. I left my yearly cleaning feeling that my teeth weren't adequately cleaned, it was like the woman doing the cleaning had never done one before and was scared of it. It's been a really bizarre experience. I would not recommend. I've left sad, crying, and disappointed by lack of care too many times. And this is coming from someone who takes care of her teeth regularly, and only should be going twice a year for cleanings! After my most recent appointments, where I left crying after feeling belittled, I felt it was time to help others avoid this place.

This is a great place to go take care of your teeth. The team was very professional examining and providing solutions by priority. Been going there for 4 years now, Dr. Cuevas is very professional and friendly he makes sure that my concerns are addressed and prioritizes what needs to be done first, he is very patient and willing to explain the issue, the procedure, and what needs to be done to solve it, Also he is great with local anesthesia you can barely feel it. As for the Dental assistants, they are very friendly and respectful and make sure that I am comfortable every time I go.

"It's extremely disrespectful that there's no management or supervisor available to address these issues. Being overcharged, subjected to false billing, and then treated with disrespect is completely unacceptable. I will ensure that the Department of Health takes disciplinary action against your clinic, and I will also be consulting with my lawyer to pursue further legal actions."

I have called four separate times (the first 2 weeks ago) to try to make an appointment and each time I was sent to voicemail and left a message. In the messages I explained that I have a filling MISSING and need to get it replaced. I have not gotten a call back. I hope I can find somewhere else that takes my Medicaid because after my experience and reading the reviews, I really don't want to go here

0 stars if I could! Despite all these horrible reviews, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and try them out for myself. What a MISTAKE! I scheduled an appointment in June for tooth pain. Was advised by Dr. Foy that I had a necrotic pulp and I needed to remove the tooth. Just 3 days later, I walked in for tooth pain and Was advised by Dr Barajas that I needed a root canal. I postponed a root canal due to my finances. In July, I came in for a regular tooth Cleaning with Dr. Barajas. During my cleaning, I was so uncomfortable and in pain. I told Dr. b that he was being a little rough and he replied with well youre here for a cleaning right?? I was shocked by his unprofessional, non sympathetic response. Being a health care professional myself, I would never have this type of response! So I finished my cleaning, while clenching my fist because thats how bad it hurt. I was in such disbelief on his response.. Fast forward to November, I started having severe throbbing tooth pain that was keeping me up all night. I scheduled an appt with Dr. Spain. She told me the cause to my throbbing tooth pain at night is because of my teeth grinding and to purchase a night guard and to continue to take ibuprofen for pain. Dr. Spain also said that I would need to come back for some fillings especially on my tooth that had a huge chip. The filling was scheduled on 121123. I came in for my filling as scheduled. Dr. Spain advised me to not eat anything that could possible make my filling crack, and try not chewing on my right side where the filling was. All went well with that appointment (or I thought). About a few days later, I started having SEVERE throbbing pain. I was sleepless, ibuprofen, Advil and orajel was not working anymore. The pain was unbearable. I did an emergency walk in on 1221 and Dr. s was told me that the pain is from me grinding my tooth at night and I do not have any infection. I came in because I thought this has to be some sort of infection that my pain level is at a 10. I got sent home again and was advised, again, to take ibuprofen and advil. The throbbing pain got worse. The pain went from my gum, to a headache and Almost felt like an ear ache at the same time. I tried to bare with it for 2 days after my walk-in on 1221. I was sleepless, the only thing that was helping the pain was swishing cold water in my mouth and I had to do this every 2 mins! I was restless, tired and in pain. I decided to go to urgent care on 1223. Of course the urgent care doctor did not specialize in teeth. She said she didnt see anything wrong with my teeth and prescribed me antibiotics because she suspected an early sign of a developing infection. I still didnt sleep after the appointment because the pain was unbearable. I decided to call other seamar dental clinics to see a Dr. I was able to get into seamar dental clinic Des Moines where I saw Dr. Kim. As I sat there in pain, Dr. Kim saw the pictures that they took and immediately said that the filling that I just got on tooth 31 is infected! I immediately responded with how can that be?? I just got a filling at the beginning of the month! And he replied that the crack was so close to my nerve that the tooth shouldve been removed and that the filling shouldve never been filled. I said but the Dr. Spain Did not tell me that or else I wouldve just extracted my tooth to avoid this pain. He apologized as for he was not the Dr. who took care of me at the time What type of professionalism is this? Is this what healthcare is all about??? What ever happened to professionals with sincere patient care and compassion?? This is not what a health care professional is. This type of patient care that should be reported to the Washington medical commission. And OSHA for being unsanitary. Clean your lighting! You can see left over secretions! I couldve avoided all this pain, being restless and sleepless. Dont come to this Seamar Dental clinic location. They are unprofessional, unsanitary, and they dont give a damn about you. Never again!

I called Sea Mar because a few of mt friends in the past went there when they were low on income. I called and talked to the lady there. I asked about the prices and she said come in today and fill out a form. When I arrived they said to send them my income statements via email and that it would cost 50 for a examination. She said she would send a to bill my home. The dentist evaluated my gums and picked at them a bit. He told me to come back for a cleaning. When I got the bill in the mail it was for 329.60. I called and they then told me the fact that if I make over 25,750 I'm not eligible for a about my income. This was after they coaxed me to come in. I was not working but made barely over that amount the year before. This was a set up scam as I see it. Other private dentist said the initial evaluation was 100. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE ITS A SCAM BIG TIME!

Some of the reviews have been a little harsh on here. I wouldn't say they are unjustly so, but I don't think they capture the quality of care by the dentist's at all. I have been seeing Dr Spain for the last year and a half and have had nothing but superb, professional dental care from her since I began going. You do have to understand where you are going though and be understanding. Being in a 'skills center, this is a teaching clinic. You can't go there expecting everyone to be confident and already skilled at what they are doing. Some of these students are still very young as well. Yes, I know what the reviewer is referring to when they complain about girls on their phone at the front counter, and yes, I know what they are referring to when they complain about not getting their call answered, but for the most part I have had very good experiences there. I have given Dr Spain a fairly difficult diagnostic, logistical and procedural challenge since I started going there and she has always given me my options very professionally and succinctly. Plus, she has a great bedside manner. I trust her to be looking out for my best interest and to do her best considering what my intentions are in the long run and with what I would want to do, while also considering my current financial situation. Some of the technical staff have a little growing up to do but on the whole I believe I have received quality care from the dentist at this Sea Mar. I do wish I could get scheduled in sooner but I only have myself to blame for missing appointments. In this case I don't believe the discounted rates correlate to a decreased quality of care from the dentists.

Ive been going there just for dental cleaning for three years just because its near by my house. However services is hit or miss. 1 st year was great, 2nd year was horrible because they want to make you go to cleaning every six month and the hygienist tech make you feel bad about it. It the patients choice to come back at 6 months or not. The doctors are amazing.. its just the technicians that give horrible service. This year was my 3rd year, I went on a given Saturday the techhygienist assistant seems mad, was throwing things around. Very scary, would not recommend Seamar dental at this location to anyone.

Wouldn't recommend Sea Mar to anyone I have a tooth that broke off at the gum line and it hurts like someone is stabbing my gums non stop and the tooth itself is the worse pain I've been in, they WON'T PULL IT! Any other tooth that has been in pain they would unnecessarily pull it and show you the door but of course Sea Mar now that a tooth NEEDS to be pulled they won't they said I would have to go to Sea Mar in south park and wait and see if I can be a walk in and MAYBE have it pulled that's been about a week ago and I still have the horribly infected tooth so thanks a lot for nothing...by the way hire someone to answer your phone instead of the girls in the office playing on their cell phones and giggling when one of the male dentist walks by them, We get unprofessional work just because this place is "low income" thanks

Worst experience ever!! Not only have my teeth ended up in worst conditions prior to me going here but they never anwser the telephone and are constantly providing you with the wrong and incorrect information and scheduling appointments that are not pertaining to what you initially scheduled a visit for. Would not recommend.

Hardly anyone answers their phones, especially anytime before 12 pm. How do you expect to make changes to your appointments if no one is around at their desks to pick up the phone? Seriously, people! Maria from the front desk is so uneasy to talk to I hate having to make appointments with the her. I'm only giving this a total of 2 stars because Dr. Spain has been delightful and gentle with how she has handled my dental needs. Yes, many of the young people working as dental assistants are either still in school, learning about the dentistrydental field or have only gotten certificates online - the ones who worked with Dr. Spain on my teeth were attentive. An older dental assistant who assisted Dr. Spain on my daughter's teeth was not friendly and was not personal. So sometimes the newer employees can do better and are nicer compared to those who are older andor have been working at their jobs for too long.
